In all the years I’ve attended WPPI I’ve always tried to take advantage of show specials while there. I never find spectacular deals on CF cards, but I’ve found some really great deals elsewhere. And with that, I want to announce a one week only special!
Pre-pay for two album designs, and get the third album design included for free! (The third design must be an equal or lesser value.) You must pay for the first two designs together between March 6-13– contact me and I’ll send you a special invoice!
Willow Album Design will be at WPPI! I’ll be at the Finao Albums booth each day of the tradeshow if you’d like to meet me, and at various functions and parties from March 6-10.
Also, I’m taking a little vacation after WPPI. I’m not closing, but will be suspending normal turnaround from March 4-21. I’ll still be designing, but not with the normal quick turnaround you are used to receiving!
In the meantime, please enjoy a few spreads one of LOKITM’s recent albums.
Miguel Pola sent this design over on the last day of my January album sale! He included a great mix of portraits and I used the 40 page design to emphasize those images.
One of my favorite things is when a client sends me a folder of images and says something along the lines of, “This is a sample for me. Do whatever you want, wow me!” Earl Christie basically said that, and I love the resulting album design! It also looks like it was a really fun wedding to photograph, so it was easy to showcase the best images to make Earl a killer sample!
Stats: Green Label Premium design, 30 pages, 63 images, 12×12 heading to Finao
This album is all about the images! New Jersey photographer Sarah Postma left the design style up to me and I knew immediately it would be a Green Label album. The crisp images shine in this album layout!
Stats: 30 pages, 12×12 album heading to Finao, 67 images, Green Label design
Fresh, clean album design is a perfect match for your portrait albums too! This is a Green Label album design with 34 pages and a cover design.

I’ve had several clients lately ask about design for albums with high page counts. With the growing press technology, more photographers are looking at companies like Couture Book and Iris Book, and this presents a unique pricing format. Books like these are designed to show off no more than one image per page, encouraging a very simple design.
If you choose Green Label design for these books, I am happy to offer the following pricing:
-up to 100 pages: $300
-up to 200 pages: $375
-one revision round
-all spreads uploaded on our normal ftp site
With that said, here’s a sample I’ve created with images courtesy Turn Loose the Art. It is designed for the Toscana Couture Book.
Last week I received a gorgeous set of images from Heidi Peters Photography. I love how her processing really matches the style of the wedding, and was happy to incorporate colors from their fall-themed wedding into the album design.
Sometimes, a client really wants a lot of formals in their album. As a photographer of weddings, you know they are an important part of the day not only to please the parents, but to gather up these groups for history. I think it’s best to mix them in with other portraits and details to keep the wedding album flowing when the client wants to include so many formals.
For the rest of the month, I am offering a great sale to help you start the new year off right!
Your first album is 25% off the normal album price, and every album after that is 40% off the normal album price. All additional spreads beyond the included 30 pages will also receive these same discounts!
Get moving, this incentive will only be valid through January 31!
Willow Album Design will be closed from December 23-January 2. This means we won’t be answering emails, uploading orders, or designing. If you’re not able to submit revisions about a week before that, don’t worry! I’ll be rested and ready to work up a storm starting in January again!
Erik Matey finally sent a design into me, and I’m so glad he did! We chose a color-blocked design with black accents. This book is bound for inkjet printing, and I know the colors will pop right off the page!
Mark Gardner sent over a set of images to create an album for this beautiful bride! We chose a Green Label album design for this wedding to keep the focus on the images.
Stats: 13.5×9, 65 images, premium Green Label wedding album design
Lindsey Beckwith sent over this wedding a couple weeks ago, complete with beautiful vintage tones and spring green accents. It’s an organic album design that really meshes well with the design elements.
Stats: 30 pages, 84 images, 10×10 album, organic wedding album design
Since this will be a Vision Art album, I also designed the cover for Lindsey
Miguel Pola just sent in these images, and let me tell you… I am so in love with this album! If it were mine, I’d be sending it in twice so I could have a sample, too! I think this clean and modern design style appeals to many clients as well as wedding photographers.
Stats: 40 pages, 101 images, 12×12 book, Green Label design
I always do my best to design all albums within the 5 business day/1 week guideline, and as the holiday season approaches I will continue to honor that commitment to all current clients. So, any client who has already sent an album my way– there will be no change for you! I feel this is the best way to thank clients who use my services throughout the year.
To future clients, throughout the months of October and November I will be extending my normal 5 business day turnaround to 8 business days. This doesn’t mean it will necessarily take that long, just that it is possible should I be jammed with current clients.
With many album companies having Christmas deadlines between November 15-December 1, I’m expecting quite the rush in the last few weeks of October. Please be assured, I am budgeting extra time to handle these demands! As always, though, it’s best to get them in early. The earlier you get them to me, the earlier you can get them to your binder. Promising clients albums before the holidays is stressful enough, so help yourself out and get them out before December 23!
Since all posts are better with designs, here’s a little holiday-themed album spread courtesy of Tamsin from AquarioStudio.com.
